Roachford

Roachford is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of The Beatmasters. Those roots explain a lot about how Roachford arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mike & The Mechanics, Terence Trent D'Arby, Wet Wet Wet, The Beautiful South and Climie Fisher, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Dina Carroll, Dru Hill, Shola Ama, Lynden David Hall and East 17, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around Roachford, reaching back through The Beatmasters and forward to Dina Carroll. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
