Rodrigo Amarante

Rodrigo Amarante is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Cornelia Murr, Fabrizio Moretti and Devendra Banhart. Those roots explain a lot about how Rodrigo Amarante arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Los Hermanos, Rubel, O Terno, Vanguart and Sérgio Sampaio, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Os Azeitonas, Natalia Lafourcade, Gilberto Gil, Mallu Magalhães and Kevin Morby, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 23 connections around Rodrigo Amarante, reaching back through Cornelia Murr and forward to Os Azeitonas. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
