Roll Deep is a UK garage act. Their sound grew out of So Solid Crew, Wookie, Alesha Dixon and Nothin' on You. Those roots explain a lot about how Roll Deep arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Lethal Bizzle, Kano, Wretch 32, Ghetts and So Solid Crew, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Wiley, Tinchy Stryder and Dizzee Rascal, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around Roll Deep, reaching back through So Solid Crew and forward to Wiley.
