Sandy Posey is a Country and Folk act. Their sound grew out of Elvis Presley, Percy Sledge, Joe Tex, Bobby Goldsboro and The Shirelles. Those roots explain a lot about how Sandy Posey arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bobbie Gentry, The Seekers, The Righteous Brothers, Sandie Shaw and Cliff Richard, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Skeeter Davis and Jody Miller, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Sandy Posey, reaching back through Elvis Presley and forward to Skeeter Davis.
