Stiv Bators is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of The Stooges, Doctor and the Medics, Eric Carmen, Iggy Pop and Jim Morrison. Those roots explain a lot about how Stiv Bators arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dead Boys, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, New York Dolls, The Heartbreakers and The Undertones, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Dee Dee Ramone and Brian James, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 24 connections around Stiv Bators, reaching back through The Stooges and forward to Dee Dee Ramone.
