Buzzcocks is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of The Troggs, The Slits, Minutemen, Sex Pistols and The Stooges. Those roots explain a lot about how Buzzcocks arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, X-Ray Spex, The Jam and The Adverts, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Offspring, Midtown, Black Flag, Sum 41 and The All-American Rejects, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 69 connections around Buzzcocks, reaching back through The Troggs and forward to The Offspring.
