Sub Sub is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Bernard Sumner. Those roots explain a lot about how Sub Sub arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Freemasons, Roger Sanchez, Deee-Lite, Groove Armada and Chicane, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into All That She Wants and Doves, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Sub Sub, reaching back through Bernard Sumner and forward to All That She Wants. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
