Surfer Blood

Surfer Blood is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of The Drums, Les Savy Fav, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, OutKast and Pixies. Those roots explain a lot about how Surfer Blood arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Girls, Islands, Ra Ra Riot, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and Dehd, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into No Joy, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around Surfer Blood, reaching back through The Drums and forward to No Joy. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
