The Apples in Stereo

Indie rock
Indie rock

The Apples in Stereo is a Indie rock act. Their sound grew out of Black Sabbath, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Electric Light Orchestra and Pavement. Those roots explain a lot about how The Apples in Stereo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Beulah, Elf Power, Quasi, The Halo Benders and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Cotton Mather, Beulah, The Shins and Phish, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 31 connections around The Apples in Stereo, reaching back through Black Sabbath and forward to Cotton Mather. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
