The Hitmen is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Blue Öyster Cult, Ted Nugent, Lou Reed, The Drifters and Aerosmith. Those roots explain a lot about how The Hitmen arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Manian, Master Blaster, Aquagen, Marc Korn and DJ Gollum, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Hoodoo Gurus and R.I.O., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 24 connections around The Hitmen, reaching back through Blue Öyster Cult and forward to Hoodoo Gurus. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
