The Like

The Like is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Phantom Planet, Elvis Costello and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Those roots explain a lot about how The Like arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Young Veins, Phantom Planet, The Academy Is..., The Hush Sound and Panic! at the Disco, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Razorlight, Phantom Planet, Kings of Leon, Muse and Arctic Monkeys, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around The Like, reaching back through Phantom Planet and forward to Razorlight. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
