The Music Machine is a Garage rock act. Their sound grew out of The Beach Boys, Clyde McPhatter, Jimi Hendrix and Tim Rose. Those roots explain a lot about how The Music Machine arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Sonics, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Troggs, The Outsiders and The Tremeloes, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ramones, The Stranglers, The Doors, Iron Butterfly and The Seeds, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 18 connections around The Music Machine, reaching back through The Beach Boys and forward to Ramones.
