Unto Others is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Zetra, Iron Maiden, The Sisters of Mercy, Killing Joke and Héroes del Silencio. Those roots explain a lot about how Unto Others arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Paradise Lost, Sentenced, Tiamat, Moonspell and Angel Witch, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Zetra, Carcass, Arch Enemy, Behemoth and King Diamond, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Unto Others, reaching back through Zetra and forward to Zetra. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
