Moonspell

Moonspell is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of King Diamond, Metallica, Testament, Type O Negative and The Sisters of Mercy. Those roots explain a lot about how Moonspell arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tiamat, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Samael and Tristania, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Morbid Angel, Danzig, Winds of Plague, Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 43 connections around Moonspell, reaching back through King Diamond and forward to Morbid Angel. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
