Hardcore punk

While She Sleeps is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Michael Jackson, Alexisonfire, Deryck Whibley, The Word Alive and Thrice. Those roots explain a lot about how While She Sleeps arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Ghost Inside, Wage War, The Plot in You, Fit For A King and Miss May I, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bury Tomorrow, Dream State and BT, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around While She Sleeps, reaching back through Michael Jackson and forward to Bury Tomorrow.
