Nothingface was an American nu metal band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1994. Their best-known and most prolific line-up consisted of Matt Holt (vocals), Tom Maxwell (guitar), Bill Gaal (bass) and Chris Houck (drums). They disbanded in 2004, only to reform the following year, reuniting with Gaal and Houck, and then disband four years later. In 2017, singer Holt died from a degenerative disease.

Primer 55 is an American nu metal band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997. The name originated from the combination of Primer, meaning "something that's unfinished", and 55, which refers to Interstate 55, "the road that drugs run on to get to Chicago through Memphis". To date, Primer 55 has released two studio albums: Introduction to Mayhem (2000) and (The) New Release (2001). After disbanding for the first time in 2003 and reuniting from 2007 to 2015, the band announced another reunion in June 2025.

From Zero is the eighth studio album by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released on November 15, 2024, through Warner Records and Machine Shop, and is Linkin Park's first studio album since One More Light (2017). This is also their first album with vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, following the death of vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017 and departure of drummer and band co-founder Rob Bourdon. The album's title has a double meaning; it is a reference to both the band's original name, Xero, and the band's new chapter with Armstrong and Brittain. The album marks the band's return to the nu metal, alternative metal, and rap rock genres, while incorporating some of the experimental sounds from their later records.

Skrape was an American nu metal band formed in Orlando, Florida in 1997. They released two albums, New Killer America (2001) and Up the Dose (2004), before disbanding in 2004 and briefly reuniting in 2005. After twenty-one years of inactivity, the band are currently attempting to reform in 2026 pending the outcome of a legal challenge to vocalist Billy Keeton's use of the band's name.

Snot is an American funk metal band from Santa Barbara, California. Formed in 1995, the band released their only studio album Get Some with founding vocalist Lynn Strait in 1997 and disbanded after his death in 1998. In 2008, the lineup of lead guitarist Mikey Doling, bassist John Fahnestock, drummer Jamie Miller and rhythm guitarist Sonny Mayo reunited. In 2009, a new band, Tons, was formed, with Brandon Espinosa as vocalist. Snot reformed again in 2014, followed by another hiatus in 2015. The band reunited again in 2024, with Andy Knapp as their vocalist.

Coal Chamber is an American nu metal band formed by Dez Fafara and Meegs Rascón in Los Angeles in 1992, initially under the name She's in Pain. The original lineup also consisted of bassist Rayna Foss and drummer Jon Tor. Mike Cox replaced Tor on drums in 1995, and the Coal Chamber lineup was complete. After signing to Roadrunner Records, they released their debut album, Coal Chamber, in 1997.

Taproot is an American alternative metal band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, formed in 1997. Its lineup consists of vocalist/guitarist Stephen Richards, bassist Phil Lipscomb, drummer Jarrod Montague, and guitarist Taylor Roberts. They are best known for their hit single "Poem", which peaked at No. 5 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 2002.
