Amy Louise Billings, known professionally as Amy Shark, is an Australian indie pop singer-songwriter, and television personality from the Gold Coast, Queensland. During 2008 to 2012, her early solo material was released and performed under the name Amy Cushway. Her 2016 single "Adore" peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was also listed at number 2 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016. Her album Love Monster debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Mabel was a Danish pop music group from Stenløse, Denmark. They came to prominence after winning the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix song contest with the song "Boom Boom" in 1978, and represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest the same year. The band were successful in Denmark and Spain. Mabel later became the metal band Studs, and disbanded in late 1982. Lead singer Mike Tramp went on to form White Lion in 1983.

In July 2015, the duo released their first extended play, titled Bad Girls EP. As of 2022, the band has sold over 1 million records worldwide. The name "MKTO" is derived from the first letters of the names and surnames of the members at the time of its founding "MK" for Malcolm Kelley and "TO" for Tony Oller; it also stands for "Misfit Kids and Total Outcasts".
