Anthony Gonzalez

Anthony Gonzalez is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of My Bloody Valentine, Depeche Mode, Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream. Those roots explain a lot about how Anthony Gonzalez arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Zac Efron, Phil Harris, Alan Menken and Patrick Doyle, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Haim, Joseph Trapanese, Bloc Party, Placebo and Goldfrapp, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Anthony Gonzalez, reaching back through My Bloody Valentine and forward to Haim. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
