◇ image via WikipediaArgent
Argent is a Progressive rock act. Their sound grew out of Hardrock, Russ Ballard and The Zombies. Those roots explain a lot about how Argent arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Traffic, The Moody Blues, Family, Sugarloaf and Wishbone Ash, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Oficina G3, Graham Bonnet, Fish, Marillion and Phish, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around Argent, reaching back through Hardrock and forward to Oficina G3. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
