Atmosphere

Atmosphere is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Eyedea, R.A. the Rugged Man, Dr. Dooom, El-P and DOOMSTARKS. Those roots explain a lot about how Atmosphere arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities, Aesop Rock, Dilated Peoples and Doomtree, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Horrorshow, Tropidelic, The Hold Steady, Left Boy and Tunde Adebimpe, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around Atmosphere, reaching back through Eyedea and forward to Horrorshow. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
