They run in the same orbit as Marcos Valle, Lonnie Liston Smith, Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes, João Donato and Roy Ayers Ubiquity, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Sabrina Malheiros, Jazzanova, Adrian Younge and Madlib, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
