Bim Sherman is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Lloyd Parks, Don Campbell, Shara Nelson, Dr. Alimantado and Fats Domino. Those roots explain a lot about how Bim Sherman arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Freddie McKay, Keith Hudson, Mikey Dread, Ras Michael & The Sons Of Negus and Leroy Smart, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Neneh Cherry, Ari Up, The Slits, Public Image Ltd. and Dub Syndicate, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 47 connections around Bim Sherman, reaching back through Lloyd Parks and forward to Neneh Cherry.
