Bone Crusher

Bone Crusher is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of T.I. and Colt Ford. Those roots explain a lot about how Bone Crusher arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Trillville, YoungBloodz, Lil Scrappy, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz and Yung Joc, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Fozzy, David Banner, Ras Kass, Killer Mike and T.I., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 41 connections around Bone Crusher, reaching back through T.I. and forward to Fozzy. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.

Background

Wayne Hardnett Jr., known professionally as Bone Crusher, is an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He was discovered by record producer Jermaine Dupri, and is best known for his 2003 crunk single, "Never Scared". The song peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 — becoming his only entry on the chart — and preceded his debut studio album AttenCHUN! (2003). Additionally, the song served as theme music for that year's Atlanta Braves roster, and was featured in the Madden NFL 2004 video game, while the album peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200.
