David Hodges is a Alternative rock act. Their sound grew out of Ben Moody. Those roots explain a lot about how David Hodges arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jack's Mannequin, Five for Fighting, Thriving Ivory, Anberlin and Augustana, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into 5 Seconds of Summer, Colbie Caillat, Chad Kroeger, David Cook and Javier Colon, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around David Hodges, reaching back through Ben Moody and forward to 5 Seconds of Summer.
