Mae

Mae is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Dear and the Headlights, Relient K and Locksley. Those roots explain a lot about how Mae arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Copeland, Anberlin, Acceptance, Further Seems Forever and The Early November, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Blindside, My Chemical Romance, Relient K, Motion City Soundtrack and Saosin, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 32 connections around Mae, reaching back through Dear and the Headlights and forward to Blindside. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
