Givēon is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Absolutely, Adele, Sampha, River Tiber and Fana Hues. Those roots explain a lot about how Givēon arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Khamari, Bryson Tiller, Brent Faiyaz, Avenoir and Lucky Daye, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Justin Bieber, Lil Durk, Teddy Swims and Ayra Starr, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 43 connections around Givēon, reaching back through Absolutely and forward to Justin Bieber. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
