Iyaz is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ruki Vverh!, Hannah Montana, He Is We, Stevie Hoang and Jake Zyrus. Those roots explain a lot about how Iyaz arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sean Kingston, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz and Lil Eddie, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jake Zyrus, Miley Cyrus, Big Time Rush, New Boyz and Akon, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Iyaz, reaching back through Ruki Vverh! and forward to Jake Zyrus.
