Karmin is a Hip hop act. Their sound grew out of Drake, No Scrubs, Autumn, Bonnie McKee and Bridgit Mendler. Those roots explain a lot about how Karmin arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bahari, Qveen Herby, Destiny Rogers, Cher Lloyd and Hey Violet, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Qveen Herby, Carly Rose Sonenclar and The Collective, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Karmin, reaching back through Drake and forward to Qveen Herby.
