Bonnie Leigh McKee is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her debut studio album, Trouble, was released in 2004 by Reprise Records. After the label dropped her, she took a musical hiatus and established herself as a professional songwriter. She has written 10 singles that have reached number one in either the United States or the United Kingdom, which have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide combined. In 2013, she made a return to music with the single "American Girl". In 2015, she independently released the EP Bombastic.

"No Scrubs" is a song recorded by American girl group TLC as the lead single from their third studio album, FanMail, released on February 2, 1999, by LaFace Records and Arista Records. The song was written by producer Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs and former Xscape members Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, with TLC member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes contributing lyrics to the rap version. The song lyrics describe the role of a man in a relationship. Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas sings the lead vocals for the first time on a TLC single. The song popularized the slang term "scrub" worldwide.

Autumn Rowe is an American singer-songwriter, TV personality, DJ, and activist from New York, NY. In 2010, she helped write the song "Happiness" by Alexis Jordan, with producers Stargate and Deadmau5, which FIFA named the official song of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany. In 2015, Rowe signed an artist deal with Ultra Records, and in 2018, she began performing publicly as the DJ, dubbed AFTR PRTY. In early 2020, she wrote and performed vocals on the drum and bass song "Good To Me", by British DJ Friction. In 2020, Rowe began to use her platform for activism and co-wrote the song "We Are" with Jon Batiste, which was used on the "Mask Up America" campaign.
