◇ image via WikipediaFuture
Future is a Contemporary R&B and Hip hop act. Their catalogue also touches Trap. Their sound grew out of TM88, Rich Gang, Jay Rock, Internet Money and Young Stoner Life. Those roots explain a lot about how Future arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as DJ Esco, Gunna, Lil Baby, Migos and 21 Savage, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Pusha T, Young Money, Bossman Dlow, Kxllswxtch and Destroy Lonely, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 119 connections around Future, reaching back through TM88 and forward to Pusha T. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
