Larkin Poe

Americana
Americana

Larkin Poe is a Americana act. Their sound grew out of Elvis Costello, Jim James, Rhiannon Giddens, Jackson Browne and Don Henley. Those roots explain a lot about how Larkin Poe arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as ZZ Ward, Dorothy, Seasick Steve, Elles Bailey and The Temperance Movement, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Billy Gibbons, Ringo Starr, Ruthie Foster, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and A Rocket to the Moon, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around Larkin Poe, reaching back through Elvis Costello and forward to Billy Gibbons. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
