LP is a Alternative rock and Indie rock act. Their catalogue also touches Rap. Their sound grew out of Isabella Summers, Butch Vig and Avril Lavigne. Those roots explain a lot about how LP arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Amy Macdonald, Bishop Briggs, Gossip, Sia and Tom Walker, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Avicii, Imanbek, Palaye Royale, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 43 connections around LP, reaching back through Isabella Summers and forward to Avicii.
