Mighty Diamonds

Reggae
Reggae

Mighty Diamonds is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of The Delfonics, The Revolutionaries, Leroy Sibbles, Ansel Collins and Junior Reid. Those roots explain a lot about how Mighty Diamonds arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dennis Brown, Wailing Souls, Jacob Miller, Gregory Isaacs and The Heptones, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Danakil, ASM and Musical Youth, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Mighty Diamonds, reaching back through The Delfonics and forward to Danakil. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
