Nate Dogg is a Contemporary R&B and Funk act. Their catalogue also touches House. Their sound grew out of Daz Dillinger, Danny Boy, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, Shade Sheist and Mos Def. Those roots explain a lot about how Nate Dogg arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Tha Eastsidaz, Westside Connection and DJ Quik, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Puddle of Mudd, Snoop Lion, Veeze, Warren G and PAWSA, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 60 connections around Nate Dogg, reaching back through Daz Dillinger and forward to Puddle of Mudd. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
