Nicolette is a Industrial and Trip hop act. Their catalogue also touches World music. Their sound grew out of Alec Empire. Those roots explain a lot about how Nicolette arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sneaker Pimps, Moloko, Howie B, Tricky and Smoke City, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Massive Attack, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Nicolette, reaching back through Alec Empire and forward to Massive Attack.
