◇ image via WikipediaNightfall
Nightfall is a Doom metal act. Their sound grew out of Septicflesh and Yearning. Those roots explain a lot about how Nightfall arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Gaahls Wyrd, Moonspell, Rotting Christ, Samael and The Halo Effect, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Nile, Septicflesh, Moonspell, Firewind and Rotting Christ, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Nightfall, reaching back through Septicflesh and forward to Nile. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
