Pale Saints is an act on the Starverb influence map from Leeds, UK, active 1987–1996. Their sound grew out of Primal Scream, Nancy Sinatra, Tom Waits, Moose and Alison's Halo. Those roots explain a lot about how Pale Saints arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Chapterhouse, Lush, An April March, Cocteau Twins and Ride, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into His Name Is Alive, Sweet Trip, Luminous Orange, The Depreciation Guild and Spoonfed Hybrid, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 52 connections around Pale Saints, reaching back through Primal Scream and forward to His Name Is Alive. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
