Prefuse 73

Prefuse 73 is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of R.A.P. Ferreira, The Black Angels, Linda Perhacs, Asha Puthli and El-P. Those roots explain a lot about how Prefuse 73 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dabrye, Daedelus, Wagon Christ, Plaid and Amon Tobin, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Erlend Øye, Diverse, Beans, Busdriver and Nobody, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around Prefuse 73, reaching back through R.A.P. Ferreira and forward to Erlend Øye. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
