Roger Taylor

Alternative rock
Alternative rockProgressive rockRock

Roger Taylor is a Alternative rock and Progressive rock act. Their catalogue also touches Rock. Their sound grew out of Rick Parfitt, Kiki Dee, Carmine Appice, John Bonham and Mitch Mitchell. Those roots explain a lot about how Roger Taylor arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Cross, Robert Plant, Elton John, Rainbow and Smile, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Kris Allen, Eric Singer, The Runaways, Electric Six and Dethklok, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Roger Taylor, reaching back through Rick Parfitt and forward to Kris Allen.
