Romy

Romy is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Jamie xx, Peaches, Madonna and Donna Lewis. Those roots explain a lot about how Romy arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Fred again.., Barry Can't Swim, SG Lewis, The Blessed Madonna and Rose Gray, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into King Princess, Kelela and Dua Lipa, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 21 connections around Romy, reaching back through Jamie xx and forward to King Princess. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
