ScHoolboy Q

ScHoolboy Q is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Trinidad James, Tyga, A$AP Mob, BJ The Chicago Kid and brasstracks. Those roots explain a lot about how ScHoolboy Q arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Vince Staples, Isaiah Rashad and Pusha T, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Jhené Aiko, Logic and Black Thought, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 55 connections around ScHoolboy Q, reaching back through Trinidad James and forward to The Weeknd. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
