Spice 1

Spice 1 is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Compton's Most Wanted and MC Eiht. Those roots explain a lot about how Spice 1 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tha Dogg Pound, MC Eiht, Mack 10, Westside Connection and Above the Law, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Freddie Gibbs, Method Man, Empire Distribution, Lupe Fiasco and Nickelus F, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Spice 1, reaching back through Compton's Most Wanted and forward to Freddie Gibbs. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
