The Exies is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Psychostick, Theory of a Deadman, The Beatles and John Lennon. Those roots explain a lot about how The Exies arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Smile Empty Soul, Submersed, Trapt, Cold and 10 Years, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Halestorm, Theory of a Deadman and David Cook, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around The Exies, reaching back through Psychostick and forward to Halestorm.
