The Green is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Fortunate Youth, Iya Terra, Stick Figure and Rebelution. Those roots explain a lot about how The Green arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as J Boog, Maoli, Common Kings, Ekolu and Fiji, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Rebelution, Matisyahu, Bob Marley, Shaggy and Iration, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around The Green, reaching back through Fortunate Youth and forward to Rebelution. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
