SOJA is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of The Green, 311 and Rebelution. Those roots explain a lot about how SOJA arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Planta e Raiz, Tribal Seeds, Ponto de Equilíbrio, Rebelution and Mato Seco, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Rebelution, Damian Marley, J Boog, Anuhea and Collie Buddz, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around SOJA, reaching back through The Green and forward to Rebelution. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
