Pepper is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Pacific Dub, 311, The Dirty Heads, Iration and Sublime. Those roots explain a lot about how Pepper arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Expendables, Iration, Sublime with Rome, Rebelution and The Movement, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Brother Ali, The Movement, Bradley Nowell, Collie Buddz and Ballyhoo!, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 63 connections around Pepper, reaching back through Pacific Dub and forward to Brother Ali. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
