The Rasmus

Alternative rock
Alternative rockRap

The Rasmus is a Alternative rock and Rap act. Their sound grew out of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ville Valo and Apocalyptica. Those roots explain a lot about how The Rasmus arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Hoobastank, Daughtry, Smash Into Pieces, HIM and Sick Puppies, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Kwan, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around The Rasmus, reaching back through Red Hot Chili Peppers and forward to Kwan. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
