Rap

HIM is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Caspian, Daniel Cavanagh, Apocalyptica, Eighteen Visions and Stam1na. Those roots explain a lot about how HIM arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Entwine, Daniel Lioneye, Poisonblack, To/Die/For and Type O Negative, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Blood Stain Child, Moonspell, Bloodhound Gang and N.E.R.D., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around HIM, reaching back through Caspian and forward to Blood Stain Child. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
