WayV

Hip hop
Hip hopRhythm and blues

WayV is a Hip hop and Rhythm and blues act. Their sound grew out of Jay Chou, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar. Those roots explain a lot about how WayV arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as NCT U, TAEYONG, NCT DOJAEJUNG, Mark and NCT Wish, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into SuperM, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 22 connections around WayV, reaching back through Jay Chou and forward to SuperM. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
