Hip hop

NCT 127 is a Hip hop act. Their sound grew out of Jason Derulo, Ava Max, Jaehyun, Red Velvet and EXO. Those roots explain a lot about how NCT 127 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as NCT U, TAEYONG, NCT DOJAEJUNG, WayV and Jaehyun, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into WayV, NCT Wish and SuperM, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around NCT 127, reaching back through Jason Derulo and forward to WayV.
